The World is Your Oyster TWIYO broadens the horizons of inner city youth through culture, travel, service, and experiences. We are developing tomorrow's leaders, today.

Beginning in 2012 TWIYO will be serving Brooklyn high school youth and providing leadership development, service, cultural, and travel opportunities through our after-school and out-of-school time programming. Read our overview to learn more!

A special . Youth are born leaders and it is up to us to show them they can be. By providing simple platforms for youth discussion and opportunity you never know just how much and can spread! : Hattie McDaniel was the first African-American to win an Academy Award in 1939 for her role in Gone With the Wind. Since then, only 14 African-Americans have won an Oscar in an acting category.

This year, no actor of color is nominated in an acting category causing many to voice their opinion on the need for more diversity in the Oscars and Hollywood to reflect our society.

: Jesse Owens was a track and field athlete and four time Olympic gold medalist. During the Berlin Olympics in 1936, Owens broke racial barriers by winning 4 gold medals, becoming the first African-American male sponsor of Adidas, and is now recognized as perhaps the "greatest and most famous athlete in track and field history".
