A new garden at Cadman Plaza Park!💚

Thanks Cadman Park and all the volunteers that came out yesterday to plant a lovely new garden around the Brooklyn War Memorial. It will serve as a fitting tribute this Memorial Day.

Last week, our Tuesday crew learned how Brooklyn Bridge Park stays so beautiful: They count on volunteers like us!

We weeded a walking path that was overgrowing to help keep the space perfect for our community to enjoy.

Build-A-Thon 2024 with Brooklyn Heights Association to benefit Ruth's Refuge was a huge success!

THANK YOU to the 30+ volunteers that showed up to build 20 dining tables and 80 chairs for neighbors in need.

It was so fun to see the teamwork and troubleshooting among this crew. Some families showed up seasoned furniture building vets and others were first timers. We learned how to use drills and the value of an Allen wrench! We discovered that there was a role for everyone in a project like this and everyone's work was needed to get the job done.

Most of all, we loved the purpose these volunteers felt knowing that Ruth's Refuge would be able to provide asylum-seeking families with a place to gather and share meals in their new homes. Thank you volunteers!!

It takes a special kid to give your time and talent each week to help someone else. Proud of them all 🙌

Thanks to our volunteers that showed up to pitch in at Brooklyn Bridge Park this past weekend! Together, they weeded a long stretch of the walking path, cleaning it up for the busy Spring and Summer seasons. Great work!

Fresh Fridge Friday! Thank you to the volunteers that came by before school to clean and stock the Brooklyn Heights Community Fridge. It's amazing what you can do in 30 minutes to make a huge difference.

We also planted a few flowers and some pots of mint to help usher in Spring🌸

What will your Spring Break look like? Or what did it look like?

Jack found himself with a few free days during his school break a few weeks ago and decided to use it to give back to the community. Jack volunteered to make lunch for CHiPS Soup Kitchen & Women's Shelter and to assist in spreading mulch at Red Hook Farms.

"There are so many New Yorkers in need. When I went to deliver the sandwiches to the soup kitchen, the line was around the block... Spending the afternoon helping others in this way felt like hardly enough and taught me so much more is needed to help people."
