Today is the first Yartzeit / anniversary of the passing of our dear friend and founding community member Alon Cohen. Our Sages teach that on this day the Soul ascends even higher in Gan Eden. Alon in Hebrew means Oak Tree. Just as an Oak Tree grows each year and produces acorns from which sprout new trees. So too do the Mitzvot/Good Deeds that Alon did in this world continue to shine and influence. Let us all do a mitzvah today in memory of אלון ציון בן ראובן הכהן ,Alon Tzion ben Reuven HaCohen, May his memory be a blessing.

Tonight we celebrate the 7th day of Passover when Hashem split the Sea for the Jews fleeing the pursuing Egyptian army. We are taught that tonight is a night when all the gates of Heaven are open, new souls enter into the world, Prayers are answered and the hidden becomes revealed. May we see healing and Redemption throughout the world! Chabad custom is to remain awake all night learning Torah. Join us from 9:30pm -1am at Chabad of Dumbo. Chag Sameach!
