🎛️ Introducing REMIX OUR NEIGHBORS — our new monthly Community Remix Lab for NYC artists.

Launching June 12, 2026, in partnership with Sound Collective and EboSuite.

APPLY NOW 🔗 https://bit.ly/apply-ron
Each month, a different selection of 10 NYC-based artists gather at Sound Collective to remix audio-visual sample packs drawn from RC's ethical archive — recordings made with Global Majority musicians from 14+ diaspora lineages right here in our city.

Using Ableton Live + EboSuite, you'll create remixes where sound and image fuse into one expressive medium. By the end of each five-hour gathering, you'll walk away with your own audio-visual loops — beats, melodies, basslines, hooks.

✨ It's not just a workshop. It's a movement.
Your remixes join a growing library of community-generated work. And two RoN participants will be selected to perform live at our end-of-year Remix Our Neighbors Live Experience in NYC — as paid performing artists.

You don't just learn a skill. You help build a community art project — bringing neighbors closer together by celebrating and ethically re-imagining the diverse cultures that make NYC what it is.

🗽 NYC residents only

For those of you who missed our newsletter update, this is Hatim Belyamani announcing some big changes for the new year. For years, I have split my focus between the roles of Executive Director (ED) and Artistic Director (AD). As our organization grows, it has become clear that the best way I can serve our mission is to devote myself fully to the creative vision that lies at Remix ⟷ Culture’s heart. With gratitude for the journey and confidence in our future, I will be stepping aside from the role of ED to focus entirely on the art. I will remain as AD while the vital work of leading our organization as ED will now be in the incredibly capable hands of Eugenie Cha.

Eugenie has served with exceptional skill and dedication as our Development Director for the past two years, and has proven to be an indispensable thought partner. Our relationship, built on deep trust and a commitment to challenge and elevate each other towards a shared vision of amplifying underrepresented artists, has laid the necessary groundwork for this major transition. Please join me in welcoming her with the full, enthusiastic support you have always given me, as she leads RC into its next chapter.

As we enter this bold new phase, however, our work has never been more critical and at risk than in this current dystopian moment. In the face of devastating cuts to the NEA and other vital institutional arts funding structures, coupled with the ongoing violence against underrepresented communities, we need your voice and support now more than ever to help us deepen our mission in countering cultural erasure and systemic harm through music, cultural organizing, and co-creation.

🎉 CAMPAIGN UPDATE: Thanks to your incredible support, we’ve raised $40,715–which is 97% of our campaign goal!

Can you help us get to 100% in the final couple of weeks? WE ARE SO CLOSE!

We’re fueling a movement that reimagines how traditional music is created, shared, and remixed for everyone.
Your support today helps shape that future.

Thanks to your incredible support, we’ve raised $$40,130 – which is 96% of our campaign goal!

If you haven’t already, there’s still time to help us reach $42,000!

Thank you for being part of this journey and here’s to more music, laughs, wins, and adventures in 2026.

Wishing everyone peace, joy, and new beginnings in the year ahead. 🌟💫

We are thrilled to share a special message from Lee Hooper, musician with Las Mariquitas and beyond, and one of the brilliant artists from our recent Tanfis IV residency.

Lee shares why spaces for bold exchange and expansive collaboration matter so deeply right now.

Tuesday may be over, but it’s not too late to make an impact. At Remix ⟷ Culture, we’re working to raise $42,000 by Dec 31, 2025 to keep these spaces alive–but we can’t do it without your support.

Your gift fuels the future of artist residencies and shapes our collective creative future.
Give boldly. Give generously. Give to Remix ⟷ Culture today.
