In conjunction with LPAC, St Pat’s for all, Irish Writers & Artists, from 1pm to 6pm we’ll have a day dedicated to Star Trek & community!
1pm to 2:30pm will be kids activities, stem, & robotics! And a kids costume showcase.
*
3pm to 6pm will be:
*Screening of TOS ‘Let this be your last battlefield’. Star Trek’s best episode capturing the true message of star trek’s belief in a world free of prejudice, and appreciation for diversity!
*This will be followed by panels, poetry, dance, special Star Trek actor cameo shout outs, and ending with a fun sci fi inspired closet costume contest!
*There will be various community tables, science & museum, and geek vendor tables, and if all goes well… a special surprise guest actor may pop by for an appearance and to do autographs!
*There will be several charity raffles to choose from with great prizes!
*This event is free for the public. It is being done to share with everyday people who may not be aware of the greatness of Star Trek, and this message of Hope, diversity, and inclusion.
We are celebrating this message for over 60 years through artistic expression. this is also being done along with Hispanic heritage month, so there will be a little Spanish flavor added in!
Also, please note.... St Pat’s For All and the Irish writers and artists groups just had Kate Mulgrew as their grand Marshall for this past St. Patrick’s parade done in Queens in March! Kate has given her blessing on this event for these are her friends, so let’s come out and meet new people and enjoy this time together!
