The Night Before Christmas
’Twas the night before Christmas, and all was not well,
The Esther Chapter elves had a story to tell.
Their Christmas in a Box was tucked safely away,
But the children were stirring and running in play.
No Christmas tree stood anywhere in sight,
Yet the elves showed great care through the long winter night.
When they realized there was no tree to be found,
There arose such a clatter, such bustling around.
The Worthy Matron sprang from her bed in a flash,
To see what was wrong and why there was such a crash.
Away to the door she flew like the wind,
Searching all stores, hoping one she’d soon find.
She told the store owner the story so dear,
Of Christmas in a Box and spreading good cheer.
And then, to their wondering eyes did appear,
A minivan pulled up, and elite ladies were near.
Four of the eight stepped out quick and bright,
With a driver so lively, a joyful sight.
They knew in a moment, with hearts full of bliss,
They had come to fulfill this family’s Christmas wish.
