The Brooklyn Dominican Parade, Inc. was founded in August 25 of 2000 by Mrs. Estella Jimenez, Dr. Rafael Lolet Santamaría and Lic. Our Organization has the intention to bring together the Dominican and Latin American Community in the tristate area in order to celebrate the roots and richness of our culture. Our organization is a community oriented group interested in the many issues affecting the
people who live in our neighborhoods. Created to promote and support the Dominican and Hispanic cultural values in general; our concept is developed in a Brooklyn neighborhood of constant changes: both ethnic and cultural, but it maintains its core values in the descendant population that still clings to its roots. Throughout the year we hold various events such as health forums about Alzheimer's, diabetes and asthma; Educational workshops for parents and youth; Christmas concerts with toys for children and others. We are an organization founded by Dominicans, but we work all year for the benefit of all communities that are part of Brooklyn, particularly Williamsburg. Whatever assistance we get, we use it in the development and deployment of our programs. Every year we celebrate the Parade and the Festival and we make all the effort to present to you a wonderful event on each last Sunday of August. This celebration brings hundreds of people and organizations together to march and been part of our parade and festival; with them, thousands of people come to Graham Avenue in Brooklyn, New York, to watch and enjoy our Diablos Cojuelos, Dance Groups, Bands, Allegoric Cars, renown artists and personalities. All ending with a grandeurs Festival full of music, food and warm happy people. We look forward to see you there!
