Our first official Line Dance event!

Sharing information and resources about and staying healthy...

We move like that!
We are clean like that
We step like that
We move like that!

Wanna see how we get down? πŸ‘€

How we step, slide, and rep Flatbush all across Brooklyn? πŸ’ƒπŸΎβœ¨
How we keep it holy… and then some? πŸ™ŒπŸΎ
We’re reaching across aisles, borders, and even bridgesβ€”building real sisterhood, showing love to ourselves and uplifting our brothers too. πŸ€πŸΎπŸ’™
This is what it looks like when fun meets advocacy.

When movement meets purpose.
When organization meets impact.
We’re not just gathering… we’re growing, glowing, and getting convention ready!

There have been 3 new line dances since January 1 and we gotta get Spring and Summer ready!

I will not be standing on the sidelines looking silly, half stepping and stepping in someone's foot, because I didn't learn before the event.

Come thru...

Long post:
Welcome to the Book Launch Club in partnership with the Economics & Entrepreneurship Committee of National Council of Negro Women (NCNW Flatbush).

We are proud to feature author Mia James and her transformative book, Think, Learn and Feel Rich.
This is not just a book launch.

This is financial intention in action.
We are building a wellness practice of knowing where our dollars are, watching what they do, and making sure they work for us. Wealth is not random. It is mindful. It is disciplined. It is collective.

We stand on the shoulders of Mary McLeod Bethune, who started with just $1.50, a dream, and sweet potato pies. At a time when laws tried to block Black women from education, she used financial intention and community support to build what became Bethune-Cookman University.

Ninety years later, we continue that legacy.
We are .
We move with .

This work reflects one of our CORE 4 pillars:
Social Justice.
Health Equity.
Education.
Economics & Entrepreneurship.

Rooted in the Kwanzaa principles of Ujima (Collective Work and Responsibility) and Ujamaa (Cooperative Economics), we embrace the Caribbean tradition of the sousou β€” pooling resources today so we can build stability for tomorrow.

We believe in collective thinking.
We believe in collective living.
We believe in building for tomorrow, today.

In celebration of Women’s History Month, we salute the economic acumen of Black women who have always known how to stretch a dollar, multiply a vision, and build institutions that last.

"I got time"
"It will immediately go to my family"
"I don't want folk in my business "
"I don't own anything"
"I said at Christmas, I want my cousin to have my album, crystal, jewelry/hat/car collection. They know what I want..."

Sound familiar?

If you don't lay out and write out your intentions, the court will.

1. **Get Expert Guidance from a Real Attorney** β€” Attorney Audra Barrow of Barrow Law Group will be presenting, giving you direct access to professional legal insight you'd normally pay hundreds of dollars per hour to receive.

2. **Learn How to Keep Your Assets Out of Probate** β€” Whether you own a home, car, jewelry, or a bank account, this seminar will teach you exactly how to protect what you've worked for and pass it on smoothly to your loved ones.

3. **Plan for Your loved ones and Children's Future** β€” The seminar covers guardianship planning for children or loved ones, ensuring the people *you* choose will care for your kidsamd family you provide oversight for β€” not the courts.

4. **It's for Everyone β€” Not Just the Wealthy** β€” As the flyer states, *"Preparation is not about wealth. It is about wisdom."* This event welcomes all ages, all income levels, and all marital statuses.

5. **A Rare, Low-Cost Community Event** β€” Hosted by NCNWFLATBUSH Section at Salem Missionary Baptist Church, and the Seniors For Christ as well as the Life Enrichment Services Ministry this is a welcoming community setting with a lite lunch provided β€” all for just a $10 suggested donation on **Sunday, March 8, 2026 from 12:30–3:00 PM**.

πŸ’œβœ¨ Cheers to 90 Years of NCNW! βœ¨πŸ’œ

Ninety years of Black women standing tall, pushing forward, and transforming communities β€” locally, nationally, and globally. Today, we honor the brilliant legacy of our founder, Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune, whose vision still lights our path.

She taught us to lift as we climb, to educate for liberation, and to serve with spirit and purpose. And we continue that work proudly β€” fueled by the wisdom of our foremothers and the strength of our sisterhood.

🌟 Celebrating 3 legendary past presidents whose leadership shaped our national voice:
πŸ‘‘ Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune β€” Our Founder, freedom fighter, educator, global advocate.
πŸ‘‘ Dorothy Irene Height β€” The Godmother of Civil Rights, architect of women’s leadership.
πŸ‘‘ Dr. Johnetta Betsch Cole β€” Scholar, cultural champion, and keeper of our collective flame.
πŸ‘‘Sis. Barbara Shaw
πŸ‘‘Dr. Thelma T. Daley

Their footprints guide every step we take. Their courage fuels our mission. Their legacy is alive in every NCNW woman showing up, speaking out, and doing the work.

Here’s to 90 years β€” and to the next 90, where WE continue to shape history together. πŸ’œπŸ”₯
