🎉 We’re proud to celebrate Emily Kurtz, RiseBoro’s Chief Housing and Development Officer, on being named one of City and State NY's 2026 Trailblazers in Real Estate.

For more than two decades, Emily has helped shape RiseBoro into one of New York’s leading affordable housing organizations, guiding the development and preservation of thousands of homes and helping grow our housing pipeline to more than $1 billion.

Her leadership can be seen in projects like Baisley Pond Park Residences, which transformed a former hotel into hundreds of permanently affordable homes, and Bethany Senior Terraces, an innovative all-electric modular development created for older New Yorkers.

At RiseBoro, we believe housing is the foundation for stability, opportunity, and stronger communities. Emily’s work brings that belief to life every day.

☀️ A beloved RiseBoro tradition is BACK! ☀️

After 10 years away, the RiseBoro Older Adult Picnic returned to Sunken Meadow State Park! More than 900 older adults from across our community came together for a summer day filled with great food, old friends, and plenty of reasons to celebrate being together again.

Here’s to bringing back the traditions we love, and creating new memories and friendships along the way. 💛

And a special thank you to Assemblywoman Maritza Davila, who helped make the return of this beloved tradition one we’ll never forget.

Today, we broke ground on Bartlett Crossing, turning vacant land into 78-units of affordable housing and opportunity for generations to come.

This moment was years in the making. It was fought for, built through partnership, and made possible by a community that believed in this neighborhood.

As shared during the ceremony: “This graduation is not just about finishing a program. It is about courage. It is about sacrifice. It is about the decision to keep going when life was already demanding enough.”

Today, we celebrate every graduate of RiseBoro’s Adult Education program and the families, teachers, classmates, and supporters who stood beside them every step of the way. This milestone reflects not only the hard work and perseverance, but the strength of a community that believes in one another.
