At Brooklyn Cat Cafe, we are proud to be one of the earliest cat cafes in the US, and the first to launch in New York City’s most populous borough. We’re the only cafe in the city run by a non-profit animal rescue organization. Our mission is to save our city’s cats, and we advance it by offering a hip and inviting destination where cat lovers of all ages can interact with adoptable animals – and one another – while learning about pet rescue and care together too.

The Brooklyn Cat Cafe will now be open on Thursdays from 3-6pm! The cats can’t wait to spend more time with you this summer.❤️

As a reminder, we’re also open Fridays and Mondays from 12-7pm, and Saturdays and Sundays from 11am-7pm!

🚨URGENT: emergency foster assistance needed🚨

Saturday morning we were told about cats being thrown out of second story apartment window. 30 cats were living in this apartment. Nine are still in the apartment, seven are with us, and one is with a colony caretaker. That means 13 are still outside needing help.

We’re in the midst of kitten season, and we don’t have space for 30 cats. We need your help!

We are looking for the 13 who are hiding outside and need to get the others safely out of the apartment. We need fosters!

With your help, we can find and bring in the rest of the cats that have been thrown out. Every cat that goes to foster opens up a spot for another to come into our rescue.

Even a short term foster of two to three weeks will us time to get them ready for the cat cafe floor.

If you can foster one or two of these guys, please apply on our website or come to our foster information session Monday (tomorrow) at 6pm (reserve at free spot at catcafebk.com/reservations). Be sure to include a note in your application that you’re applying to foster for our emergency hoarding rescue. We will be processing applications immediately, and you will hear back and be able to schedule pickup within two days.

If you can’t foster, please consider donating to help cover medical costs. None of these cats have received any veterinary care.

It took 4 people almost as many hours to rescue this tiny, terrified kitten from under a row of parked cars. A feeder we have been working with to TNR (trap-neuter-release) her colony heard his cries of distress on her way to a family event.

When we arrived, a concerned neighbor was desperately calling around .... another neighbor came out to jack up the cars so we could all crawl underneath, and his sister brought out giant bite gloves. We tried every trick in the book. Finally, when one person tried to grab him, he ran - right into the trap! Welcome KC! You are safe now!

We have not one, not two, not even three, but SIX eyeless cats at the Brooklyn Cat Cafe right now! Technically, one of them has one eye but she’s an honorary member of the eyeless crew!

If you’ve never met an eyeless kitty before, you’re in for a treat. Each and everyone one of these cats is incredibly affectionate and snuggly. What they lack in eyesight they make up for with LOVE! If you want lap and shoulder cats, these guys are the cats for you. They get around amazingly well, playing and romping around just like any other cat. They also love to use our cat wheel (swipe to the end

The joy and love these babies bring to the cafe is a joy to experience, and if you adopt them you can experience this joy every day!
