We can’t believe it’s been a whole month since our tenth and final CCKL. Just because we’re not organizing any more events (for the foreseeable future) doesn’t mean we won’t still be sharing our favorite shots, especially from our milestone event at BWAC Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition.

We can’t believe it’s been almost two weeks since our tenth and final CCKL. We’re finally ready to announce that we raised over $20,000 this year for Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. That’s without matches, without help from any major donors and entirely out of YOUR POCKETS. That grassroots kind of funding brings our grand total since starting in 2013 to more than $188,000 for cancer research.

There are no words for what these numbers mean to our team. It has been the most incredible decade getting to do this with all of you. More photos coming soon from our good friends T-Rex Photo and Thomas Armento. For now, enjoy these gems from our longtime emcee, crooner and all around problem solver Brian Sears.

Thanks again to everyone who came out to support CCKL (including this picture perfect sky). We’re wrapping up our final counts today. If you haven’t yet donated but would still like to, you can head to the link in our bio or venmo . Proceeds to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center for colorectal cancer research and every dollar brings us closer to our event-end goal of $200,000. We’re not quite there yet but can get there with your support! Every dollar counts.

In 2020, Cancer Can’t Kill Love went virtual thanks to Bridgeside Productions. We asked our team to tell us what CCKL meant to them. Two years later, as we get ready for our 10th and final event, these words still hold true — and perhaps mean even more than ever before.

We’re just ONE WEEK AWAY from Cancer Can't Kill Love 10. In case you missed it, we’ll be going live one last time from outside of BWAC Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition next Saturday, 9/17. Nine main events, four venues, one live-streamed show and countless musical acts, sponsors, photographers and Custom Ink campaigns later. Oh, and more than $150,000 for organizations like Stand Up To Cancer, Lustgarten Foundation Pancreatic Cancer Research, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and our primary benefactor Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Plus a few new donors for Be The Match.

We could not be prouder of what we’ve accomplished — and of what we’ve built. More words in the coming days as we prep for our biggest and most badass show so far.

Today marks 14 years without Butchie. Though some days it feels like so much time has passed, others, it feels like just yesterday he was making all of Bay Ridge laugh. As we gear up for our milestone 10th anniversary event (and our grand finale), we’re bringing it back to the beginning. This year’s CCKL will be held in loving memory and Jo and Butch — the two that started it all in 2013. Lace up those dancing shoes and pencil us in for Saturday, September 17th. We’re just 16 days away and we can’t wait to see you there.
