Protect Haitian Families: Senator Schumer Urges Senate Action on TPS Legislation

Monday, June 29, 2026 | 10:30 a.m.
Life of Hope
4123 Avenue D
Brooklyn, NY 11203

Following the Supreme Court's decision allowing the Trump Administration to terminate Temporary Protected Status (TPS), community leaders, elected officials, and advocates will join Senator Chuck Schumer to call for immediate Senate action to protect Haitian families.

The U.S. House has already passed legislation extending TPS protections, and Senator Schumer has introduced companion legislation in the Senate. Speakers will urge Senate Majority Leader John Thune to bring the bill to the floor for a vote before vulnerable Haitian families lose their legal protections and face the risk of removal.
