GreenBridge, the community environmental horticulture program of the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, has joined forces with the Brooklyn Public library to transform the garden area of the Children's Library's entrance on Eastern Parkway, at the Central Library at 10 Grand Army Plaza, Brooklyn. In September 2011, five volunteers from its 'Brooklyn Urban Gardener' Program (BUG), were assigned by GreenBridg

e to help bring this project to fruition. If you would like to contribute to the project in anyway, please use this page to communicate directly with the project team and supporters. The BUG volunteers are:

But there is some good news! First, the BUG team has begun the arduous process of cleaning up the rocks, so the site is looking a little better. Second, our favorite engineer, Sam Fahmy, arranged for the removal of the granite slab that was hindering our efforts to improve the site. There is still a lot more to do and we would love your help!

We made some progress on Monday with plants donated by the BBG. Our next task is to find some help with the design of a bench or sculpture for the center area which can't be planted due to the tree roots.
