We were thrilled to welcome NYC Dept of Cultural Affairs Commissioner Diya Vij to BRIC House for a tour of our headquarters and programs. And in the midst of sharing our arts, media, and education work with her and her team, we stepped into the artist studio where a full-blown rehearsal was underway for our August 8 tribute to Aaliyah. Under the musical direction of Taja / L’Rain, even the rehearsal raised the roof.

Afterwards, the Commissioner visited BRIC’s Community Media Incubator space, where the BRIC TV team was developing its next season of programming and a cohort of youth journalists were busily honing their craft.

Thank you, Commissioner Vij, for visiting with us and helping make this work possible. Count on BRIC Arts Media to support your vision to celebrate culture as a vital, community-driven ecosystem across the five boroughs. We’re glad for your leadership and here to help get you great things done.
