On July 7th, 2026, ICE agents shot and killed Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, an immigrant man, as he was driving a work crew to a construction site in Houston, Texas.
Black and brown immigrants often live in communities that are subject to enforcement surveillance and are targeted by local and federal law enforcement; we are more likely to get racially profiled, imprisoned, detained, deported or killed. We demand that the assault on our communities STOP.
We demand and as we stand in solidarity with Lorenzo’s family and community and all those impacted by the terror of ICE as we continue building our collective people power across Houston.
