We Care New York

We Care New York A volunteer charity that provides support to access services, programs and resources for victims of crisis and survivors of natural disasters across NYC.

Inspired by the devastation of Hurricane Sandy, We Care New York is focused on providing support and outreach services for New York City residents during a time of crisis or disaster. Its work will include a variety of issues such as temporary housing or shelter, mold remediation, community and home air quality, and the distribution of food, supplies and clothing. Its objective is to publicly prom

ote issues to find temporary and long term solutions for those trying to survive each and every day. We Care New York hopes to secure funding for all or some of the programs and services it would like to offer.

“The problems flood-affected communities are experiencing are growing each day,” said Mr. Taylor. “So many people are trying to survive in their homes and have used all the funding from FEMA, insurance, charities, retirement saving, children’s college funds and loans from family and friends to get by each and every day.”

We Care New York will focus immediate attention on supporting the temporary and on-going recovery efforts for NYC victims. We Care New York will ease the burden on victims by helping find the support they need to rebuild. Its primary focus will be implementing programs for those in crisis, especially children, the elderly, disabled, single-parent families and other lower-income New Yorkers, so no one is suffering needlessly. We Care New York’s support network will start in Southern Brooklyn, and then expand into other communities as volunteers, resources and funding become available.
