Sister S.A.G.E.

Sister S.A.G.E. A safe space for girls to experience intensive personal development through service, sisterhood, cultural empowerment and self exploration. Sister S.A.G.E.

(Strengthening Advocacy for Girls' Empowerment) grew out of need to meet the specific needs of young women in Bushwick and Bedford Stuyvesant. We provide an emotionally safe space for girls to experience intensive personal development. A forum for mutual support and understanding of collective responsibility is nurtured in the program. Members are provided with the knowledge that will help them su

ccessfully resist historical, social, and cultural assumptions made about girls and women of color. Today S.A.G.E. services girls from all walks of life from different areas in Brooklyn, New York through recreational activities, cultural empowerment and service projects. Using curriculum, other issues including health, relationships and identity are addressed as identified by the S.A.G.E. participants.
