After three days of nonstop searches, he was found. 🌊

Following extensive search operations at sea and along the Ashdod coastline, the body of the missing man who disappeared at Mi Ami Beach was located near Lido Beach.

Since the initial report, ZAKA’s Special Units, together with volunteers from the Lachish Region and Ashdod team, worked around the clock alongside Israel Police, the Marine Police Unit, and Lehava rescue teams in the effort to locate him.

The search included shoreline scans, marine operations, drones, and specialized rescue equipment.

After difficult days of uncertainty, the mission came to an end.
ZAKA volunteers continue accompanying the family during these painful moments, with dignity and care.💗

ZAKA’s Diving Unit held a large-scale operational training exercise today at the Kinneret, with around 80 volunteers participating ahead of the summer season.

The exercise focused on improving underwater search and rescue capabilities in complex water conditions, lessons strengthened by the recent 10-day search operation in Netanya.

Volunteers trained with advanced sonar systems, coordinated rescue techniques, drones, jet skis, and specialized diving operations designed for real emergency scenarios.

During the drill itself, teams paused training to respond to a nearby medical emergency, providing immediate treatment before returning to the exercise a reminder that readiness never stops.

Behind every operation is constant preparation, professionalism, and dedication. 🌊🙏

Tragedy in Bukhara.

A 72-year-old Jewish man collapsed and passed away at the airport in Uzbekistan during a trip in the region.

From the moment the report was received, ZAKA’s International Unit began working together with local authorities, the Jewish community, Israel’s Foreign Ministry, and additional officials to ensure he is brought to burial in Israel with dignity and as quickly as possible.

Because of the proximity to Shabbat, efforts are continuing around the clock to complete all necessary arrangements and assist the family during this difficult time.💗

A devastating attack.

A contractor was killed today in northern Israel after a direct strike by an explosive drone hit engineering equipment at the site.

Emergency and security forces responded immediately.
ZAKA Northern District volunteers operated alongside police forensic teams, working carefully to ensure dignity and collect findings at the scene.

This is another painful reminder of the ongoing reality and of the teams who continue to respond, every time, without hesitation.

As the sun sets, our tears of remembrance turn into tears of hope.

At ZAKA, we witness the devastating, physical price of our freedom every single day. We know exactly what it costs to live freely in our homeland.

But today, we step out of the shadows of loss and into the light of our independence.

We honor those who gave everything by celebrating the life, the strength, and the unbreakable resilience of the State of Israel.
Happy Independence Day.

Am Yisrael Chai. 🇮🇱💙

On Memorial Day for Israel’s Fallen Soldiers and Victims of Hostile Acts, we bow our heads.

We share in the collective grief of the entire nation and mourn the loss of every soul that fell defending Israel, as well as every victim of terror.

In this historic period, as the state once again fights for its survival, our work exposes us to the heaviest price of this war.

The core value guiding us—“Hesed Shel Emet” (True Kindness)—means one thing: the absolute preservation of the dignity of the fallen and the murdered.

We arrive at every scene, collecting every remain, to ensure that each and every one receives the final respect they deserve, standing by the families in their moment of absolute loss.

From within the deep national pain, we will continue to operate with professionalism and mutual responsibility.

May their memory be a blessing. 🕯️✡️

After 10 days of relentless searching: the body of 17-year-old Avraham Yeshayahu Spiegel was located. Following complex recovery efforts, the deceased was released for burial.

As previously reported, during the drowning incident at Tsanz Beach, two brothers were swept away by the sea.

The older brother, Yissachar Dov Spiegel, aged 21, was pulled from the water in critical condition and rushed to Laniado Hospital, where he fought for his life for several days. Tragically, he passed away on Wednesday.

His younger brother, Avraham Yeshayahu, aged 17, was declared missing, and extensive search operations were launched to locate him.

The search mission, which continued nonstop since the incident, involved large-scale efforts by ZAKA alongside the Israel Police, the Marine Police, and the elite Lehava Unit.

Throughout the operation, a wide range of resources were deployed, including diving units, jeep teams, drones, jet skis, police helicopters, and additional technological equipment, with searches carried out both at sea and along the shoreline according to sea conditions and currents.

Chaim Weingarten, Deputy Director of Operations at ZAKA, said:
“This was a complex operation that lasted many long days, and even after the body was located, we continued working with determination to complete the identification and release process. It is a painful moment, but it also brings a sense of closure for the family after days of uncertainty.”

Eliezer Lipschitz, Head of ZAKA Netanya, said:
“For ten days we have been on the ground, day and night, יחד with volunteers from across the country, never leaving the search for a moment. Today, the body was located in the depths of the sea. We did everything possible to bring an answer to the family.”

At 13, Michal Dickstein stayed in a war zone to save lives.
She wasn’t a nurse or a soldier—she was just a girl who refused to let Holocaust survivors face the fire alone. 🕯️

She remembers the 4 AM ambulance and the whispered request of an elderly man asking for help.

Michal didn’t have a medical plan, so she simply sat by his side until sunrise.
In that moment, she realized that sometimes the greatest thing you can give someone is the simple knowledge that they aren’t alone.

Through 18 rescue flights and hundreds of injuries, Michal and ZAKA brought over 150 survivors to safety.

For her, “remembering” isn’t just a word—it’s a way of life.

Lighting up the world with memory 🕯️🌍

From the United States to Australia, ZAKA International volunteers joined forces with “Shem VeNer” and “Yad Vashem” for a powerful global initiative: “A Chain of Memory.”

This year, we moved beyond official ceremonies to make remembrance personal.

In dozens of locations across the globe—including Ukraine, Germany, Belgium, and South Africa—our volunteers lit individual memorial candles, each bearing the name and story of a Holocaust victim.

A moment to remember: In the chilling silence of Babi Yar, Ukraine, Valery and Nachman Dikstein (ZAKA Europe leadership) lit a candle for their own family members murdered on that soil. A profound bridge between personal loss and our shared history.

“Lighting candles for those who have no one left to remember them is a direct continuation of our mission,” says Dubi Weissenstern, ZAKA CEO. “To honor every human being, to give a name to every soul, and to ensure they are never forgotten.”

We remember. We honor. We carry the light forward.
