On Thursday, August 13, 2026, members of the Central Brooklyn Lions Club participated in a Food Distribution Service Project hosted by Assemblyman William Colton, the Council of People's Organization, and UA3.

Lions members assisted with the distribution of fresh fruits, vegetables, and non-perishable food items to community residents. Many individuals and families attended the event and received much-needed food supplies at no cost.

This project supported local families by providing access to healthy, nutritious foods that can be used to prepare balanced meals at home. The Central Brooklyn Lions were proud to take part in this community service effort and contribute to improving the well-being of residents throughout the community.

Congratulations to PID Vijay Kumar Raju from Multiple District 316 in India, Lions Clubs International's endorsed candidate for International 3rd Vice President of our organization.

The Lions Clubs International Board of Directors just announced it’s recommending Past International Director Vijay Kumar Raju from MD 316 (India) as international third vice president for election at the 2027 international convention in Washington, D.C.

Past International Director Raju has served as a member of the LCIF Board of Trustees, chairperson of the Membership Development Committee, Centennial Action Committee member, G*T area leader, Lions Clubs International Strategic Planning Committee member, LCIF constitutional area chairperson, and has served on a number of other local and international committees, all advancing the association’s mission and goals over his 30 years as a Lion.

Past International Director Raju works in the education field as a senior executive with a focus on governance, strategic direction and advisory leadership. In addition to his long-standing history of service to our association and foundation, he has been actively engaged with a wide range of civic, cultural and professional organizations, reflecting his commitment to both industry and community.

Let’s all congratulate Past International Director Raju on this honor!

On August 7th Central Brooklyn Lions Club Inc. served those in need in Queens at the Masjid Al Koaba with Councilmember Ty Hankerson’s Team. Food was distributed to families in need.

On the week of June 23rd, FVDG Ty'East Bobb and PDG Barbara Moody attended the Lions International G*T Symposium with MD-20 GET Chair Elect Lion Mark Devarel, District Governor Elect Dr. Denise Lloyd -and other District Governors Elect, GMTs, and GETs which were hard at work in Atlanta planning for the 2026-2027 Lionistic year developing strategies to strengthen service, grow membership, support leadership development, create new clubs, and ensure Lions remain engaged and satisfied in their clubs throughout New York State.
