Brooklyn Scouts, part of Outdoor Service Guides (formerly BPSA), was developed to welcome everyone that has not been previously included in Scouting and the outdoors. Outdoor Service Guides, formerly the Baden-Powell Service Association (BPSA) was formed in the US in 2006 as an independent and traditional style Scouting Association. We welcome those who have been previously underserved by Scouting, including female and non-binary Scouts and BIPOC Scouts. We seek to ensure that everyone has fair and equal access to the outdoors, no matter their cultural or economic background. Outdoor Service Guides is totally independent of, and not affiliated with, either The Boy Scouts of America or the Girls Scouts of the USA. We are members of the World Federation of Independent Scouts and as such are not in competition with other American Scouting Associations. OSG and Brooklyn Scouts offers a choice for those with curiosity, energy and independence of spirit. We are committed to providing an appropriate alternative and community-oriented Scouting experience. We foster the development of Scouts in an environment of mutual respect, social justice, and cooperation.
