The Greenpoint Manufacturing and Design Center (GMDC) is a not-for-profit economic development organization dedicated to the preservation and creation of permanent affordable manufacturing space for small and mid-sized industrial firms. Since its incorporation in 1992, the organization has engaged in the purchase and redevelopment of vacant and dilapidated industrial properties, which it has conve

rted into multi-tenant manufacturing centers that provide flexible and affordable space, shared technology and equipment, and other business development assistance.

Today we had the pleasure of having Congresswoman Nydia M. Velázquez visit GMDC’s Manhattan Avenue location to present federal funding that will support our building’s bulkhead replacement project.

This Friday starts off their eighth annual Made in NYC Week, happening May 1–7! It’s a citywide celebration of the makers and manufacturers who keep NYC’s creative energy alive.
