The first openly gay man to play top-tier professional football (or soccer, for our American friends) recently accused his former club of pushing him out because of who he loves.

Josh Cavallo, the 26-year-old Australian player who made history when he came out in 2021, dropped a bombshell Instagram post revealing why he really left Adelaide United last May after riding the bench all season.

"Leaving the club had nothing to do with football. Decisions were made by people in power that blocked my opportunities, not because of my talent, but because of who I choose to love."

He claims teammates even mocked photos of him and his partner in a group chat, and says the experience made him question whether coming out was a mistake.

Adelaide United has denied everything, insisting selections are made "solely on footballing grounds." Now playing for Stamford AFC in the UK, Cavallo says his fresh start has helped him "breathe again" and fall back in love with the sport.

The issues facing LGBTQ+ Jamaicans are not abstract. They are not imported. They are local, lived, and long-standing.

Violence. Discrimination. Lack of legal protection.

As Glenroy Murray reminds us in his interview with Jamaica Gleaner, these are the realities that demand attention, NOT POLITICAL DISTRACTION!

Why is diversity so important?

Diversity brings new ideas and experiences to the table, and inspires people to learn from each other.

A world without diversity would be like a world without colours!

Harry Styles just ended years of q***rbaiting accusations the only way he knows how - by actually doing it, on live TV, in front of millions of people.

Queerbaiting is when a celebrity teases q***r identity to attract LGBTQ+ fans without ever committing to it - think the lingering looks, the "I never talk about my personal life," the gender-neutral fashion that stops just short of saying anything real.

Harry has been one of the most discussed figures in this conversation for years, alongside other devastatingly attractive men like Nick Jonas, Charlie Puth - guys who flirt with q***r aesthetics and then... nothing.

Last night on SNL, Harry tackled it head-on in his monologue. After joking that his time off made him reflect on half a lifetime spent in music - he addressed the accusations directly, looked into the camera and said: "Did it ever occur to you that maybe you don't know everything about me, dad?"

Then SNL cast member Ben Marshall walked out on stage, the two kissed, and Harry turned back to the audience with a smile and a wink: "Now THAT'S q***rbaiting."

🚨 URGENT. Senegal’s National Assembly passed a law on March 11 that toughensthe country’s already harsh anti-LGBT+ legislation. If approved by the president, it would double the penalty for same-sex relations to up to ten years in prison and introduce prison sentences of three to seven years for LGBT+ activists. This would intensify the crackdown on the q***r community in the country, just weeks after Ghana re-introduced a similar bill.

But there’s still time. The Senegalese president can still reject this bill. No one should go to prison for loving who they love or for being who they are. Stand with LGBT+ people in Senegal – sign the petition and help dial up the pressure. https://brnw.ch/21x0GTA
