I agree with . Cooking is not the enemy but a real solution. Huge public health potential in *everyone* in learning these skills and making the most out of food dollars with healthier food choices. Mark Bittman

It’s not important that everyone cook, but it is important that everyone eat well — and the best way to do that now is to buy good food and cook it.

My experience mirrors : Kids are less "picky" and more adventurous eaters with regular home-cooked .

True story: last week when the pantry was pretty bare, my husband whipped up a Japanese-style meal with what was on hand. "What's for dinner?" the teen asked. "Octopus and turnips!" came the reply. "Yum" was her honest answer. And every scrap of the meal was eaten, even by my 9 yr old, who considers herself to seem "picky." Can't make that stuff up!

Kudos to the The New York Times Food section this week! On the bandwagon with great advice, articles and recipes. Yes they are touting their new Cooking app but I love always more tools for the reluctant home cooks to embrace the challenge and "Just Cook"

The message of the moment is to embrace the act of cooking dinner. It is an easy habit to form, and offers many benefits.

The New York Times tackles the debate. Jenny from Dinner: A Love Story says it best: "No place for guilt at the table." The point of shared meals is connection. Home-cooked food is great and I personally strive for that but not every family can do that. Embrace and enjoy what you can do for family meals.

Totally agree! Families cooking and eating together can be a powerful force for good -- in their own lives and in the world.

"Believe it or not, one of the most powerful—and easiest—ways we can change the world is by cooking food more often." —Sam Kass on how home cooking benefits kids and families via the all-new Eater: http://bit.ly/1si46UY

Another clue he was a smart man: Steve Jobs cherished . Nice article highlighting how even those who love technology see the benefits of "face-time" to connect with family and need to set limits on screen time for young children. Thoughts?

Technology executives limit their children’s screen time as Apple’s leader once did.
