FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE!!!

ROCK AGAINST DYSTROPHY Postponed Indefinitely Due To Covid!

Earlier this summer the world was ready to rock and so were we. We were excited to announce that we’d be back this year. We know you all were excited to by the presales and response to the announcement of this years show.

Unfortunately we have to share that concerns over Covid and the new variant is forcing us to postpone the show indefinitely.

The cause is important but what’s truly important to us is the lives of every one involved from the All Stars and bands to each and everyone of our supporters. Keeping everyone healthy and safe is our number one concern so that we all can continue rocking.

So stay tuned in the future because we aren’t done. We are just waiting for the time to be right for us all to safely gather together to ROCK!

Please reach out to where you purchased your ticket for a full refund.

Stay Safe!
Rock On, Stay Strong

ROCK AGAINST DYSTROPHY Is Back To Rock Out And Honor A Family Member!

In 2019 Rock Against Dystrophy celebrated its 10 Year Anniversary of rocking out to knock out Muscular Dystrophy with proceeds going to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association, something founders Turbo and Jay Scorpion (brothers who have Spinal Muscular Atrophy) have been determined to do each year. They were geared up for the next several years of rocking for their cause and then the pandemic hit.

“Not doing our benefit last year hurt so much,” says Turbo. “We’ve never let anything stop us and we literally had no choice. But now we are as fires up as ever!”

The effort to rock out to knock out Muscular Dystrophy is ready to rock for 2021 and just as loud as ever. This year it returns to The Headliner in Neptune, New Jersey. Returning to lead the charge as the Emcee for the night is a man with a heart as big as himself is TattooTony Rodriguez.

This year also will honor Chris Homeny, a member of the Rock Against Dystrophy family, who recently passed away during the planning of this years event. Because of his support of music on all levels through Old Bridge Metal Militia and Militia Nations he and his wife Pattie have been a part of the cause for several years. Part of this years proceeds will be going to the family of Chris Homeny.

“The news of losing Chris was a huge blow,” says Turbo. “We literally just finished working together getting the local bands playing this year booked. This year we rock for Chris, his family, and the cause.”

Rock Against Dystrophy continues to combine the local music scene with names the world knows with Incognito Theory, BLUD RED ROSES, and Psychoprisms ready to crank it to eleven to get the crowd ready for this years All Star band.
Who may you ask is the R.A.D. All Star band for 2021? Well this year get ready to rock with Mark Tornillo (Accept), Bumblefoot, John "JD" DeServio (Black Label Society), Chris Caffery, Ron Lipnicki (Overkill), Danny Watts (BulletBoys), David DiPietro (T . T. Quick), Scott Metaxas (Prophet), Ken Dubman (Prophet), Russ Arcara (Prophet / Edgar Cayce Band), Jimmy Callahan (Prophet / Edgar Cayce Band), and Ed Avila (Shotgun Symphony), plus you never know who shows up.

You can get your tickets in advance at https://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/5192544. Don’t miss the return to doing your part to help rock out to knock out Muscular Dystrophy and help them honor the memory of friend.

Over our history of Rockin out to knock out Muscular Dystrophy we’ve suffered some losses. Our effort has built a family in our fight for the cause and tonight our family took a huge hit.

This is Chris Homeny with our own Turbo and tonight we lost Chris. He, and his wife Pattie Powers Homeny, have been a huge part of our family over the past several years. Chris and Turbo have been working on getting ready to announce a return benefit this year. We don’t know what will happen as right now we as a family are hurting and are trying to deal with the loss of such a great man with an even greater heart.

Our deepest condolences to his wife Pattie, daughter Sami, and family.

Update on The Brighton Bar! It’s not closed! Stay tuned!

Ok I don’t like to leave false information out there so here’s an update from my sources within the music scene.

The Brighton Bar has only cancelled shows. THAT’S IT! The article shared yesterday and going around has turned out to be a fabrication based on shows being cancelled. There’s more to the story that will be told eventually.

So again it’s not closed for good yet so put your mourning away. Stay tuned for an actual announcement and ignore the article going around as it’s only fact is that shows are currently cancelled.

We just got word of this article that The Brighton Bar is shutting doors. We are in shock along with the rest of the music scene. They were gracious enough to let us have our 2018 All Star Benefit there where we packed the house to the max. We hope that this is just temporary and say thank you for Rockin with our cause.

The Brighton Bar of Long Branch, open since 1915, is closing its doors due to the effects of the COVID pandemic.

Hey all,

We hope you all had a great holiday and the new year is treating you well.

We usually would be beginning to plan our annual fundraiser by figuring out dates and so on but unfortunately the pandemic is still going on.

We look forward to rocking out with all of you again as soon as it’s completely safe for us, the bands, our All Stars, and YOU!

You can still purchase Merch through the following link to help us continue our effort to rock out to knock out Muscular Dystrophy.
