The PPWSL is an instructional softball league for women 18 and over with games played on weekday nights in Prospect Park, Brooklyn.

🏈 🟨 Help us kick off the 2026 season right by participating in our Super Bowl Squares Fundraiser! 🏈🟨

Anyone is welcome to participate, please share it far and wide with friends, family, coworkers, etc.

It's $10 per square - half the money raised will go to the league, half will be paid out to the individual winners. And, the team who sells the most squares will also get a prize! 🏆

How to participate:

1️⃣When you pick your square, be sure to include which team you (or friend, family, etc) are affiliated with in the "referral" box.

2️⃣Then, please venmo -heirigs (last four of phone -2639) within 48hrs to secure your square, and include your squarenumber(s) in the venmo description.

This was such a hit last year that we are starting off with TWO grids, so you can buy squares in one or both. (And if we fill 2 easily, we will make a 3rd!)

🎉 Let’s celebrate! 🎉

You and your loved ones are invited to our End of Season Party. Despite Mother Nature’s best efforts, the 2025 season was amazing with competitive play and a whole lot of fun. Let’s mingle and reminisce about all the good times we had!

Food, drinks, dancing, space to hang inside and out, darts, pool, softball chatter, season shoutouts, etc. Woot woot! All are welcome!

📍 (399 9th St)
⏰ 6:30 pm til ???

Tickets are $30 - This includes entry, food and one drink ticket. Additional drinks will be up to you!

Grounds Crew Discount: $20 - As a thank you to those who worked on the fields Thursday and Friday to make them playable for tournament weekend, please take $10 off your ticket. That was a massive lift and the tournament wouldn’t have been possible without your help. Thank you!!

Feeling the Squeeze: $10 - In an effort to make this as accessible as possible, a number of tickets will be available for $10.

Feeling Generous: $40 (plus) - Covers your ticket and additional funds help others in the League come out to celebrate! Takes a village.

Please venmo Rigs at Lauren-Heirigs (2639) by Thursday, September 18th so we have a headcount. And please include “season party” and any additional guests’ names in the message.

Are you a pitcher or a league alum? Wanna play softball in Prospect Park with us? Come try out!

⚾️

Due to an unprecedented number of undrafted players still in our draft pool and the limited number of roster spots available, the league will not be holding regular tryouts this year. This decision was not made lightly and we apologize to those of you that were planning to tryout this year.

The league is always in need of pitchers, so this year’s tryouts will be limited to pitchers and alumni who wish to return to the league.

⚾️

If you are trying out as a pitcher, please be aware that:

1. Our league is a modified fast pitch league

2. You will be expected to pitch for your team. If you are drafted and are then unwilling to pitch, you will be dropped from the team and replaced by another player from the draft pool.

⚾️

Tryouts Details:

• 3/19 (Wed) from 4-6pm @ Quaker Parrot Park

• 3/22 (Sat) from 9am-11am @ Quaker Parrot Park

You only need to come to one day of tryouts. Plan to stay the whole time.

The field is turf, so please wear turf-friendly cleats or sneakers.

In loving memory of Roseann, we invite you to join us for a candelight memorial gathering on Friday, November 1, at 6:15pm on Field 1. We will observe a moment of silence at 6:20pm.

Let’s come together to honor her life and the light she brought to the Bombers and our league.

Please bring a candle to place along the base paths and feel free to share a brief tribute if you wish.

Let’s create a beautiful space of remembrance. Please do not bring anything to be released into the environment (lanterns, balloons). Bring only candles that will need to be removed after the service.

Roseann Sheehan, beloved member of our PPWSL community, recently passed away. Her love for both the game and her team will always be remembered. Our hearts are heavy for the Bombers and all of Ro’s loved ones. The wake will be held Thursday, 10/10. League members, check your email for more details.

A message from the :

“We are deeply saddened to share the news of the passing of our beloved Roseann Sheehan. Roseann was on the Bombers for 16 years and it is a gut wrenching loss. We are truly heartbroken. Softball was Ro’s life and the Bombers were her softball family. Ro was our lead off hitter and shortstop Captain who led by example on and off the field. She had a quiet strength, humility and the utmost commitment. She never ever complained about anything or anyone. Ro was the best of the best!!! Ro’s last game played was Friday, July 26 vs Crescendo. We are extremely grateful for the past 16 years and we hope she knows how much she is loved and meant to us. She is survived by her partner Abby and her family in the Tri State area. Rest Easy Ro #4. We Love and Miss You So Much!!!”

Wow! What a day! Are you all as tired as we are?

Today, 14 teams played 3 games each and battled it out on the field.

Tomorrow, teams are guaranteed at least one game. If they win, they keep playing. If they lose, well, they don’t gotta go home but they are out of the competition.

Who will take home the trophy? It’s anybody’s game!

Join us on Prospect Park Fields 1, 2 & 3 for the conclusion of this fun filled weekend and the end of our softball season. (Stay tuned for info about post-season events!)

🔥 Get ready for the ultimate softball showdown at the PPWSL end-of-season tournament!! 🔥

🌟Join us on August 24 & 25 at the Prospect Park Long Meadow Ballfields from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. for non-stop action. 🌟

🥎 Day 1 kicks off with round robin pools on fields 1, 2, 6 & 7. (Fields subject to change based on weather and condition so keep checking this page for up-to-date info.) 🥎

🏆 Day 2 amps up the excitement with single elimination battles on fields 1, 2 & 3 from 8:30 am to 5 pm., with the Championship game starting at 5:15 pm on field 1. 🏆

🎟️ Visit the tournament table at Field 1 to find out scores, see updated brackets and stick up on merch (shirts, shorts, hats and more) to show off your PPWSL pride!! There will also be be raffle where you can enter to win amazing prizes donated to us by our league sponsors. 🎟️

🎉 This weekend will be a fun-filled day of competition and camaraderie. Bring your friends and family to cheer us on. All are welcome! 🎉
