Hello scholar/artist/movement people! Are you someone who needs to or wants to develop, write, and publish cogent research articles? Are you in a position in which the pressure is on? Maybe you want to add your work to the canon of thoughtful and impactive scholarship! (If so, we need you!)
If any of the above is true for you, we have developed a course to meet those needs: Methods for Designing and Conducting Research.
OPEN NOW: Unit 1: Research Foundations (November 7 - December 5, 2026)
From the description of the course: Participants gain hands-on experience with observing, documenting, and analyzing movement as data, while also examining how personal bias and researcher identity shape the research process. After being introduced to various research approaches, participants will be prepared to design a complete, small-scale research project using movement analysis principles to produce movement-based findings that are systematic, ethical, and clearly communicated.
Teacher: Teresa Heiland, PhD, CLMA, is a Professor at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro specializing in dance literacy, movement analysis, creative practice, somatics, and dance wellness.
COST: $250
