Moms Who Care, Inc. Reading is Right! We’re just some moms who LOVE promoting literacy! ALL kids deserve books! 📚❤️

03/02/2026

📚✨ Happy Read Across America Day from Moms Who Care Inc.! Today we celebrate Read Across America Day, a nationwide reading initiative created by the National Education Association (NEA) that highlights the importance of diverse authors and diverse stories so that all students see themselves and others reflected in the books they read.

Today and every day, our organization is happy to celebrate the joy of reading, literacy, and family bonding. Take a moment to curl up with your little ones and share a story — it’s one of the best ways to connect and grow together. 💕

Don’t forget to visit your local library to discover new adventures all year long and support diverse authors whose voices and stories deserve to be heard. 🌍

Every story matters, and every child deserves to see themselves — and others — reflected in the books they read! 📖❤️

🌈📚 It’s a Reading Rainbow kind of day! 📚🌈

February has been filled with literacy celebrations, library love, and powerful reminders of why reading matters — and today we’re ending the month strong!

Families can stream Reading Rainbow all day on PBS Retro — what a beautiful opportunity to slow down, cuddle up, and read together. ❤️

At Moms Who Care, Inc., we believe literacy is more than learning to read — it’s about:
✨ Strengthening family bonds
✨ Creating meaningful conversations
✨ Building vocabulary and imagination
✨ Connecting reading to lifelong academic success

Today, gather your little ones, watch an episode, then:
📖 Read a book together
💬 Ask open-ended questions
🎨 Draw or write about your favorite part
❤️ Talk about what you learned

If you believe every child deserves access to books and literacy-rich experiences, consider supporting our mission.

💛 Your donation helps us provide interactive literacy workshops and book giveaways to families who need them most.

📚✨ World Read Aloud Day ✨📚

Today, Moms Who Care Inc. proudly celebrates the power of reading aloud as a simple yet meaningful family activity. We are proud to be an organization that promotes a love of reading and provides diverse books to every family we encounter—because every child deserves to see themselves and others reflected in the stories they read. 🌍📖

Reading aloud helps build language, strengthens listening skills, sparks imagination, supports academic success, and nurtures a lifelong love of books. But most of all, the moments you spend cuddled up reading together are truly priceless. ❤️

We hope you find time to read aloud with your little ones today—and as often as you can. One story, one moment, one memory at a time. 📖

✨ MLK Day of Service 2026 was simply amazing!

In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy of service, our team proudly partnered with , , and for a meaningful community service social. Moms Who Care, Inc. proudly donated 300 brand-new, diverse children’s books that will be distributed to children in Ghana, South Africa, and New Orleans during upcoming youth service trips led by I Am CULTURED.

Volunteers came together to pack lunches with Hashtag Lunchbag NYC for New Yorkers experiencing food insecurity. We also filled suitcases with the books donated by our organization, along with school supplies generously provided by Darnell Cares & several other volunteers.

The spirit of collaboration was strong, and the collective support for both our local and global communities was truly powerful.

💛 Thank you to every volunteer who showed up.
📚 Thank you to our donors who make it possible for Moms Who Care, Inc. to place books in the hands of children near and far!
🌍 This was truly service in action—locally and globally.

We look forward to continuing these impactful partnerships!🫶🏾

✨📚☕️

Our final event of 2025 was one for the books! 📖💛

We wrapped up the year with amazing families in Jamaica, Queens, sharing the joy of reading aloud, offering tips to make reading time meaningful, creating art together 🎨, and spreading cozy cheer with book and pajama giveaways 🧸👕.

A sweet hot chocolate & cookies station ☕️🍪 made the day even more special and helped turn our year-end celebration into a true success.

Thank you to our incredible volunteers—both young and wise-for your time, energy, and heart. We couldn’t do this work without you! 💕

Here’s to community, literacy, and ending the year with warmth and connection ✨📚💫

Literacy & Family Bonding Time—no matter the weather! ❄️📚

Even a snowstorm couldn’t stop us from spending a beautiful Sunday afternoon with incredible moms and their children, creating space for joy, connection, and comfort through shared stories and meaningful activities. Together we read a great book, played board games, made bracelets, and created winter-themed crafts—simple moments that mean so much.

In the spirit of the season, each mom received a self-care bag as a reminder that they are deserving of care and rest, while the children were excited to receive cozy new pajamas—perfect for cuddling up with a good book in the place they call home 📖🧸

We shared a warm pasta and pizza lunch, enjoyed holiday tunes, and filled the room with laughter and love.

This day was made possible by our dedicated volunteers and the generosity of our donors and supporters. Because of you, families navigating a season of transition were able to experience warmth, togetherness, and the joy of literacy. Thank you for helping us show up—especially when it mattered most 🤍✨

✨🎄 Community Joy & Love for Literacy in Action 📚💫

We were thrilled to join the Lakeview Civic Association at Harold Walker Park for their community holiday kickoff and tree lighting! Despite the chill in the air, the warmth of the community was undeniable.

As we gave away books and shared reading tips, community members of all ages sang , danced, and shared tales about the diverse holidays celebrated this season, the evening was filled with joy and connection. The sounds of the local high school marching band made the moment even more magical. 🎶

Moments like these remind us why we do this work—promoting literacy, celebrating culture, and strengthening community bonds, one book and one family at a time. Thank you, Lakeview, for the love and holiday spirit!

🎄📚 Merry Little Readers was pure holiday magic! What a great time we had collaborating with the Teens of Jack and Jill, Nassau County Chapter to support families at the Baldwin Public Library as they selected books, enjoyed read-alouds, received parent reading tips, and learned about the importance of building strong daily reading habits at home.

Partnering with JJNC has been a success, and we are so grateful to kick off the holiday season together—spreading literacy, joy, and community connection.

As always, we’re thankful to our volunteers for supporting this great event!💚✨
