Flatbush Mutual Aid Free exchange of goods and services, self help workshops, potlucks and more. We come from all walks of life.

Flatbush Mutual Aid is a grouping of friends and neighbors who have been active in community-building projects for several years [in one case, decades] here in Flatbush. These projects include community gardening, food rescue, buying clubs and Community Supported Agriculture; community meals, sharing of skills and resources. What has brought us together is a profound dissatisfaction with a way of

life that is wasteful, soul destroying, unjust and ultimately unsustainable - and which seems incapable of reform. We believe that we can have lives that are more satisfying and interesting -- less stressful and wasteful, more creative, abundant and purposeful -- by extricating ourselves, to the extent we can, from this "rat race" and developing our own networks of support and cooperation based on the concept of mutual aid
