It’s the last week of school, and that can only mean one thing…
🎉 SAE PRESENTATIONS! 🎉

Today’s featured project comes from Thomas Greene. As an active sheep exhibitor, Thomas recognized a need for additional grooming and fitting stands in our show barn. He designed and built this stand at home as part of his SAE project.

Thomas then generously donated the finished stand to our show team, where it will be used by students for years to come. Projects like this highlight the creativity, problem-solving, and leadership skills our students develop through agricultural education and hands-on learning.

Another weekend on the road! 🚗💨

Sophia Folks and Sidney Higginbotham watched the sun rise on the way to Starkville this morning for the MSU Lamb Showmanship Clinic at the new Livestock Evaluation Laboratory.
We learned some great tips and enjoyed working some wool lambs… and of course fit in a good lunch at The Little Dooey.

We had a lesson in AI today… and it had nothing to do with ChatGPT 🤣🐐

Today, Mr. Drew Nagy took the time to bring several of his Boer does to campus and provide our students with a hands-on learning experience in artificial insemination. He demonstrated the AI process step-by-step while also explaining the importance of proper timing and management practices to ensure successful results.

Opportunities like this give our students valuable real-world insight into the livestock industry and help connect classroom instruction to practical application. We are incredibly thankful for the chance to learn from experienced producers who are willing to share their knowledge and expertise.

Thank you, Mr. Nagy, for investing in our students and providing such a unique and educational experience!

What a day!
We had a truck full of sheep exhibitors make an early morning trek to Booneville, MS for the MS Hair Sheep Breeder’s Association Spring Field Day.
We had a great time learning from fellow producers and special guests. We look forward to continued involvement with this organization and seeing the positive impact it will have on the hair sheep industry.
Mark your calendars- we will be partnering with fellow MSHSBA members as we host a production sale here on campus on September 12 in our new show barn!

Thank you to everyone who attended our annual Awards Banquet on Thursday evening. To see more than 250 people gathered to support the students of the FCAHS Ag Program was truly something special! Here’s a few photos to highlight some of the many great moments from the evening.
