Happy World Toilet Day!!
The official World Toilet Day, celebrated November 19, honors the humble loo, sanitation infrastructure, and the workers who protect human health and wellbeing. This year’s theme addresses the need for toilets that are fit for the future. That means toilets and treatment infrastructure that are resilient to climate change, and preparing citizens for what to do if / when floods or other disasters leave us without the toilets we’re used to. It’s the most wonderful time of the year!! See you at this Wed-Fri for the *ecyclers Rich Earth Summit, a yearly gathering for the global community of researchers, engineers, legislative experts and humans engaged in ecological toilets, specifically urine diversion (which means systems that separate p**p and p*e). Founder Shawn will be presenting with colleagues Friday on designing communication for emergency toilets. Should be fun! Tickets still available at RichEarthSummit.org

Catch The P**P Project in Ithaca, Jan 31-Feb 6!
Founder Shawn Shafner ( ) will enjoy a week-long residency at The Soil Factory ( ) starting this Friday. This residency is a special opportunity to explore what was once an actual soil factory, work on new material, enjoy deep meditation and contemplation, spend time in nature (Ithaca’s gorges, right?!), and offer a few FREE opportunities to engage with members of the Cornell College of Agriculture and Life Sciences community ( ). Happy Brown Friday! Did you know that the day after Thanksgiving is the busiest day for many plumbers? As much as we love to see our favorite Plumber Ang, let’s do what we can to prevent a call to the plumber. Dispose of any food excess and grease in your trashcan instead of your garbage disposal. And if you need to troubleshoot your disposal in anyway, roll up your sleeves, grab a flashlight, and checkout the section on our blog for tips and tricks!

Is there a better way to spend a beautiful fall day than touring a wastewater treatment plant? I, for one, do not think so. Yesterday, we got a tour of Conshohocken’s Wastewater Treatment Plant. It is amazing how much wastewater is processed on this one small site! And the true marker of a successful plant? A contained poo smell on a hot, dry day. 🍁🍂🍃 **p
