🌳 Troop 90 Helps Commemorate America's 250th Anniversary 🇺🇸
The Scouts of Troop 90 recently had the honor of planting a White Oak tree at the Canterbury Town Hall as part of a nationwide effort to commemorate the 250th Anniversary of the United States.
This project is being conducted in partnership with the National Garden Clubs, the Federated Garden Clubs of Connecticut, and the Quiet Corner Garden Club, with a goal of planting one White Oak tree in every town across America.
The White Oak has long been recognized as a symbol of strength, endurance, and the American spirit. By planting this tree, the Scouts of Troop 90 are helping create a living legacy that will continue to grow for generations to come.
Scouting teaches young people that citizenship is more than learning about history—it is taking an active role in shaping the future of our communities. This tree serves as a reminder of our nation's past, while also standing as a symbol of hope for the next 250 years.
Troop 90 would like to thank the National Garden Clubs, the Federated Garden Clubs of Connecticut, the Quiet Corner Garden Club, and the Town of Canterbury for making this meaningful project possible.
As this White Oak grows, so too will the legacy of service, stewardship, and community that it represents.
