Suck it up and shoot, you’re only as good as your last assignment! A 2 Day workshop with starts This Weekend! Link in our bio to sign up.
No Fair-Weather Photographers Here, Get Out and Shoot!
No matter the weather—overcast skies, rain, freezing temperatures or a heatwave—the story of the day must be told. Join John Taggart, a seasoned photojournalist with experience covering natural disasters, riots, mass shootings, presidential elections to New Year’s Eve in Times Square and so much more.
This is not your typical street photography workshop. Participants will spend the day shooting a real-world assignment, honing their ability to capture overlooked details, and mastering the art of becoming an efficient yet creative visual storyteller.
The day begins at Contact Photo with a group session led by John, where he’ll share invaluable insights, techniques, and personal experiences from his career. Afterward, each participant will be given a unique assignment to go out and shoot. The next morning, John will provide an extensive live critique session, editing each student’s entire take in person over a projector, offering actionable feedback to help you grow.
This workshop is designed to challenge you to push past creative boundaries, take risks, and develop a distinctive photographic perspective. Whether you’re looking to step into the world of photojournalism or refine your storytelling skills, this hands-on experience will help you get there.
