We are in need of a very part-time Occupational Therapist.

Pay: $44.00 - $46.00 per hour

Job description:

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will work with adult individuals, particularly focusing on cognitive rehabilitation. This role involves assessing patients' needs, developing treatment plans, and implementing therapeutic interventions to enhance their ability to be more independent. The Occupational Therapist will collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care and support for the patients. This is a very part-time position, only working 3-8 hours per week.

Duties

Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical, emotional, and social capabilities.
Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and patient goals.
Implement therapeutic interventions aimed at improving daily living skills and overall functionality.
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team.
Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding treatment options and strategies.
provide group cognitive rehabilitation treatment.
Stay updated on best practices in occupational health and therapy techniques.
Experience

Proven experience working with individuals with brain injuries is highly desirable.
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and team members.
Ability to adapt therapeutic approaches based on individual patient needs.

Cognitive changes often occur following brain injury. These can include deficits in attention, memory, executive functioning (problem-solving, organization, decision-making), information processing, communication, mental flexibility, lack of awareness and more. Cognitive rehabilitation is often a prescribed treatment following brain injury.
At Beyond Brain Injury, we work with individuals at any stage of their recovery to develop strategies to compensate for cognitive changes that are the result of a brain injury.
