We are proud to celebrate our CEO, Anjuli Mishra Cameron, for being named one of Twin Cities Business’s 2026 Notable Diverse Leaders! This recognition highlights the leadership and community-driven work that continues to advance SEWA-AIFW’s mission of strengthening families, supporting vulnerable community members, and building a healthier, safer, and more connected community.
Through expanded mental health services, small-business support, resources for seniors and survivors of gender-based violence, and rapid-response assistance for immigrant families, SEWA-AIFW continues to meet the evolving needs of the communities we serve. In 2026, following Operation Metro Surge, Anjuli also established the Minnesota Model for Community Advocacy, empowering communities to organize, advocate, and support one another during times of uncertainty.
This recognition reflects the impact of our collective efforts and the dedication of our staff, volunteers, and community partners. Together, we remain committed to ensuring individuals and families of all ages have access to the resources, care, and support they deserve.

SEWA-AIFW was honored to join the Asian Americans/Pacific Islanders in Philanthropy - AAPIP Twin Cities Rapid Response Fund Closing Celebration along with Transforming Generations and MN8 to reflect on the meaningful impact of this critical support. As a grantee, this funding allowed us and other organizations to respond quickly to the needs of families and individuals affected by federal enforcement operations. With these resources, we provided direct financial assistance for legal and rental expenses, culturally specific mental health support, basic necessities, and continued access to our free health clinic. This support helped families navigate immediate challenges while providing a sense of stability, safety, and connection during an especially difficult time. By supporting organizations, the Rapid Response Fund strengthened our ability to show up for our community when it mattered most and ensured that individuals and families did not have to face these challenges alone. AANHPI communities continue to face significant challenges and we must continue building the relationships, resources, and collective support needed to ensure our communities are not left behind.

SEWA-AIFW was honored to attend India Association of Minnesota's International Non-Violence Day celebration on October 2 at the Minnesota Historical Society. We were especially grateful to receive the “Power of Community” Recognition for our mutual aid efforts earlier this year, led by SEWA-AIFW’s Marketing and Communications Lead, Addo Joachim and supported by SEWA's Community Connection, Education & Research Director, Sayali Amarapurkar. We would also like to congratulate the SEWA-AIFW team and volunteers for making this effort a success as we could not have done this without them!
The evening was a powerful reminder of the strength of compassion, service, and community solidarity. Inspired by the words of Nobel Laureate Kailash Satyarthi, “We need to globalize compassion,” and the Honorable Justice Alan Page, “I am not just an optimist but a prisoner of hope,” we reflected on the many nonviolent movements that have shaped communities around the world—including Minnesota’s recent collective response to Metro Surge. Congratulations to our fellow honorees: COPAL, DHH Church, Pangea World Theater, SAATH, SAHARA, CAPI, Twin Cities Nonviolent, and Unidos MN. We are grateful to stand alongside organizations committed to building a more compassionate, peaceful, and united Minnesota. May we continue this journey together. ❤️
