The time is finally here!
CAPI's home in Brooklyn Center, our Immigrant Opportunity Center, is set to reopen to the public on September 21st! We cannot wait to share with you our beautiful expanded facility which will allow us to serve even more of our community.
This new facility will include:
-An expanded food shelf
-New technology resource center
-More community gathering spaces
-Daycare and office spaces
-Community gardens (Opening Spring 2027!)
-More space for our community to connect, grow, and thrive
We are incredibly excited about the new chapter, for the first time in many years, CAPI has the opportunity to bring our entire team together under one roof. This transition will strengthen collaboration, improve our operations, and help us better serve all of our constituents now and for years to come.
As part of this transition, CAPI will be closing our temporary food shelf at 6064 Shingle Creek Parkway as of this Friday, September 4th, and our Minneapolis office at 3702 East Lake Street, Minneapolis, will be permanently closing as of Friday, September 11th. During this time, all staff will be available at their regular offsite locations and reachable by email and phone.
All services provided at these locations will transition to the Immigrant Opportunity Center, with the facility opening on September 21st, and the food shelf reopening with a free fresh produce distribution from 1pm-3pm on September 22nd (open to everyone in the community!)
