It feels like spring! It'll soon look like spring over at Athan's Bakery - Brookline with the "Arts in The Square" group exhibit from March 29 - May 29. Chill, have some pastries with coffee or tea and take in the works of Washington Square artists - Amalia Tagaris-Busuioc, Orna Feldman, Wini Breines, Peg O'Connell and Hsiu-Lan Chang.
Opening Reception on Friday, April 5th from 5pm to 7pm. You're invited!!

Guess what! CAFE NERO in Washington Square is opening (planning to) this Friday! I know, a bunch of you will be hollering "...another coffee place &% #@*%!!!", but we are wishing them a successful and smooth opening. Apparently their paninis are great and the décor is very pleasing. We're so thrilled when businesses come to settle down in Our Square!

Message from the Brookline Police Department - Marathon Monday:
Monday April 18th will be the Running of the Boston Marathon. This event will bring over 30,000 runners through our Town and thousands of spectators to the Beacon Street Course. Beacon street will be closed from approximately 8:30 AM until 7:00PM. There will be 3 pedestrian crossing areas. Beacon at Tappan, Beacon at Webster, Beacon at Hawes. These areas will be staffed by race officials, and they will determine when it is safe to allow pedestrian traffic across. We ask that you plan ahead AS CROSSING WILL BE UNAVAILABLE between 11:45 AM and 4:00PM due to the volume of runners. All spectators are asked to leave large items at home, and to report anything they determine to be suspicious. Propane cooking equipment is not allowed.
