Join our team! Temple Ohabei Shalom is seeking After School Teachers to join us at ShalomBASE, a warm and collaborative, newly launching, program in Brookline MA. Help create positive and joyful Jewish learning for kids (grade K - 2) in a camp style way. Positions are available for a lead teacher and an assistant teacher to join our groundbreaking new program. You will have the opportunity to create community, nurture and maintain positive friendships, and make a difference for the lives of kids in your neighborhood.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
• *This is a 2024 - 2025 school year position and begins in late August.
• Foster creative and vibrant classrooms in a safe and enriching environment
• Be PRESENT and ACTIVE through time with students including community time, homework, snack, activities, and playground time
• Create and lead engaging experiences and interactive lesson plans that cater to various learning styles and encourage participation for children in grades Kindergarten-2nd
• Support and implement robust social-emotional learning, Jewish experiential learning, and general enrichment with the guidance of ShalomBASE Leadership
• Supervise public school transportation pick-up, as needed, as we walk students daily from local schools to Temple Ohabei Shalom
• Communicate effectively with ShalomBASE leadership and team staff
• Plan, setup, and clean up daily with the team
• Complete some hours of orientation and onboarding prior to being in the classroom
• Ensure compliance with Early Education & Care (EEC) policies and regulations
• Participate as a team member in programming meetings and training
• Other responsibilities and tasks, as needed, for example: celebrations and promotional events (i.e.: open houses, festival booths, etc.)
Requirements:
• Strong work ethic and leadership skills
• Experience in working with children
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Bachelor's or Associate's degree preferred OR have a high school diploma or equivalent and six months of experience working with school-age children including three months of supervised experience at a school-age childcare program.
• Salary: $23.00 to $27.00 /hour
