🔹 Did You Know? Loss of smell can be an early sign of Parkinson’s disease.

Many people living with Parkinson’s experience a reduced sense of smell years before tremors, stiffness, or other movement-related symptoms begin. In some cases, this change may be one of the earliest warning signs of the disease.

While a diminished sense of smell does not automatically mean someone has Parkinson’s, recognizing changes in sensory function can be an important part of understanding overall health and knowing when to seek medical guidance.

Awareness of early symptoms can help individuals and families have informed conversations with their healthcare providers and better understand the signs associated with Parkinson’s disease.

Many people think Parkinson's disease only causes tremors, but the reality is much more complex.

Parkinson's can also affect movement, sleep, speech, mood, memory, and everyday activities. Understanding these symptoms can help individuals, care partners, and families better navigate the journey.

Knowledge leads to understanding. Understanding leads to support.

🔹 Did You Know? Parkinson’s Can Affect Handwriting.

Many people living with Parkinson’s disease develop micrographia, a condition that causes handwriting to become noticeably smaller, more cramped, and more difficult to read over time.

While changes in handwriting can occur for many reasons, micrographia is a common symptom of Parkinson’s and can sometimes be one of the earliest signs of the disease.

Recognizing changes like these can help individuals seek medical guidance sooner and better understand what may be happening.

Education and awareness are important tools in the Parkinson’s journey. The more we learn, the better equipped we are to support ourselves, our loved ones, and our community.
