Arkansas celebrates its statehood birthday on June 15. On this day in 1836, it officially became the 25th state to join the United States. This year marks the state's 190th anniversary.

Camper Fire Response – June 13, 2026
On June 13, 2026, the Cove Creek Pearson Fire Department responded to a camper fire at Cove Creek Campground. Cove Creek Engine 1, Engine 3, Tanker 2, and Rescue 2 responded to the scene. Firefighters were able to quickly bring the fire under control, preventing further spread.
Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
We would like to thank Survival Flight EMS, the Cleburne County Sheriff's Department, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Park Rangers for their assistance and support on scene.
We are grateful that everyone involved remained safe and that the incident was contained safely.

This isn't a race. It's a tribute.

Together, we climb to honor the 343 FDNY firefighters and all the heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice on September 11, 2001. Every step represents courage, service, sacrifice, and the promise that we will NEVER FORGET.
