Hello fellow cabin owners!
Just a couple of things to update you on from the Tentanta Association :)
Good news:
We've had no water leaks in 3 weeks! (Knocking on wood)
Either prior to or following this email you will receive the response we received from the meeting with Flintstone's attorney. Most of which is addressed below.
A siren has been installed by the office. Everyone agrees that this is inefficient, and we are addressing the issue of additional sirens and their functionality. We will share any updates when they become available. If you hear a siren in the next couple of days do not be alarmed. Some of the board members will be testing it to see where additional sirens need to be placed.
Beth and Shellie have done an extensive tour of the park and are working on providing a "recommendation" that will provide clearer direction to our cabins for our guests, workers, and emergency crews.
A new 3 1/2 x 4 1/2 map is being placed to the right of the Vacasa shed to also aid with the direction to cabins.
We are working with the "powers that be" to have a form of wire ties given with trash liners for easier closure.
Gio is now overseeing everything in the park and has brought on his brother Rico, who is excellent, and Chris will also be back working part-time. So park workers have increased, and things are getting done! We don't know the full logistics, but we were informed that Flintstone will be sending out an email explaining this change.
Landscaping has improved with bushes, grasses, and weeds being maintained throughout the park on almost a daily basis. Thanks to those who have been cheering on Rico and Gio for their efforts.
Flintstone is waiting for the insurance inspector to review the septic building. Once that occurs, they will have the old building taken down and acquire the necessary permits to build the new structure.
Gio is working with Vacasa and Flintstone to address the Vacasa garbage issue and site maintenance issues. We thank everyone who has been working with Gio on the new trash guidelines.
They have demoed and removed two vacant trailers down in the trailer park area and will be demoing another building today or tomorrow; rain permitting. After that, they will be cleaning up the debris left at other sites in the trailer park.
Regarding approval notices: As long as the work is maintenance, and not a renovation or improvement beyond what is already existing, and according to Oregon law which refers to the lease, our lease stipulates that we are required to maintain our homes and sites. So any rotten board, painting (within park esthetics), yardwork, etc., that doesn't alter anything, should not require permission from Flintstone and is considered maintenance.
We have also relayed the growing rodent problem within the park. We can't say that anything will be done, but we are working on it.
It has been suggested that we consider having another community assistance/cleanup day or weekend, when fellow cabin owners and volunteers would help our neighbors with site work, painting fences, or other tasks needed. I know we have a lot of arguments to make, but we should also take pride in our community. If our neighbors need help or we can make things a little better, that's something to consider. Please let us know your thoughts on this.
We are currently working on publishing a monthly newsletter. We invite cabin owners to submit photos for our Photo of the Month feature, recipes, good news, classifieds, or topics for the featured articles. If you have any good historical information on the park or area, that would be awesome. The newsletter will also contain information on Park news, happenings around the area and a note from Gio and possibly Flintstone.
As the holidays are approaching we will be discussing with Flintstone if they are sponsoring the holiday light contest again this year. If Flintstone isn't doing anything, we'll look into prizes from the bottle money. We are trying to find out early so that people can plan this year. If people have time to plan and shop at sales then we'll see more lights in the park.
And on a final note… Caroline at the bakery has graciously agreed to let us use the facility for our annual holiday party. We are planning a luncheon or dinner where Caroline will provide the main food items, and ask cabin owners who wish to contribute side dishes. The logistics will be worked out in November and relayed to the park.
We would also like to announce that Caroline will be serving Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. I believe she is thinking on $35 a person.
At the moment, things are looking up in the park and we hope that it continues in this direction.
