Johnathon Cahill woke up a day after mothers day with a bulging lump on his stomach. After being in the hospital for nearly a week we found out the happy little boy we knew had Liver Cancer that spread to two tiny spots on his lung. Johnathon was diagnosed on May 15th, 2012 with stage Four Hepatoblastoma. A rare form of cancer affecting only 1 in 1.5 million children. He went through 6 rounds of c
hemotherapy and many medications to fight off the tumor. In August of 2012 Johnathon had a life saving liver resection to remove the massive tumor. After endless days in the hospital he always beamed a smile of hope, he grew to love his nurses, he loved his bald head, and he wore his scars with pride. By the miracle of god he was declared NED (cancer free) on November 9th, 2012. He defied the odds and proved to doctors that he was more then numbers. Due to chemotherapy Johnathon now suffers from a disease called Neuropathy and high pitch hearing loss. He fights everyday as he continues to heal. He needs your prayers and support to help him fight on through the after math of cancer as the next five years of remission is the most crucial. We were beyond grateful for the outreach of support when our family needed it most that Hope for Johnathon decided to partner with KiDS NEED MoRE to create the MoRE Hope for Johnathon Programs. It's our mission to provide hope and happiness to children battling cancer and life threatening illness. The Hope for Johnathon Programs Include:
-Delivering Hope (providing children movie baskets, or special care packages)
-Friendly Hopel Visits (Home or hospital our volunteers will come help brighten families day. Weather its playing video games, playing a board game, or hosting a taco Tuesday.)
-Warm Fuzzy Mob Squad (Is a patient fishing up their last round of chemotherapy? Does a sibling have a baseball game coming up? A group of volunteers in the community will be their to support them and cheer them on for their accomplishment!)
-Milestone Celebrations (throwing celebrations for patients birthday's or remission anniversary.
