New Sight VFD

New Sight VFD It's a Department where all Fireman are Vol. male and female. We are in the process of trying to build another station behind the station we have now.

It's size will be aroundr 80'x100' two bay drive thru. It will house 4 trucks inside the bay area. It will also be a two story station that will have a class slash meeting room with the Officer offices down stairs and upstairs will be the living area for the Firemen to stay at the station over night or on the weekends. It will have a sleeping area with a complete restroom aswell. Anyone wanting to

help with this as far as donations or labor you can contact any of our Firemen to see what needs to be done and thanks for you support. We also looking for any Male or Female that wishes to join our Department and become a help to their community. Must be at least 17 yrs of age for the Jr Program and over 18 to be a Regular Fireman with the Department.

Last nights meeting the Chief named his new Officers the Asst. Chief is Orlando Little, Capt.1 Don Smith, Capt.2 Reuben Kahl, Lt.1 Warren Thoape (Safety Officer) and Lt.2 Joe Honea (Tranning Officer). These are ur new Officers Congrads to yall that has been choosen. Also had a new member to join our Department congrads to Cory Smith welcome to the family.

Just a reminder from your Dept. please make sure to check on your out side pets and make sure they have plenty of cool water to drink. Make sure they also have someware cool to go and lay down out of the sun and heat also. Remember to check on any of your neighbours that are elderly or disabled to make sure ther are staying cool and have plenty to drink also. If your working outside just rember to drink plenty of water or gatorade to keep u cooled off and hydrated. Try not too start no Fires in the yard aswell with this heat and dry weather it wouldn't take much to start a big fire that you wouldn't be able to put out by urself so please be caushes with fire in this dry weather. Remember besafe in this heat and stay cool.

Congrads to the new Chief of Newsight Fire Department Ben Goss. New Officrs will be anounced at the next meeting.Thanks for the leader ship of the past Chief Orlando Little and all the past Officers that served under him. We look foward to the leader ship of the new Chief and his Officers to keep your Department striving foward and to keep it growing to contuing to serve your Community to the fullest.

Three of your Fireman has went to the Ms State Fire Aca. and gotten certified as a Vol. Firefighter level 1 today and congrads to the other Firemen from Lincoln County (Zetus, Loyd Star and Ruth) The Instructor of the classes was Mark Porter the Fire Chief of Loyd Star. Thanks to him and the Instructors of the MS State Fire Aca. for all the knowlage they have given us to better serve our communties and the people that live in them. (Around 12 members got certified today at the Aca. from all the listed Dept.'s above.)
