Great work by the PCNY Legislative Committee!

A special thanks to our Albany representative, 5th Precinct Trustee Kevin Maiale who knocked on many doors to get this done.

Members of the Police Conference of New York Board, the Legislative Committee and NYS Legislators took some time to enjoy that Tier 5 & 6 Pension Reform has passed.

The Police Conference of New York has spent countless hours walking the halls and knocking on doors to get this done for Police Officers Statewide.

The Police Conference of New York main focus is getting the job done because when we win, the cop on the street wins.

A big thanks to all the other police unions who prioritized the push for Tier 5 and 6 pension reform and the Police Conference of New York, who has been a leading voice for Tier reform on behalf of police labor across this state.

This is a big step forward, but the work continues. Looking ahead, there’s more we want to accomplish for our members, and there’s more of Tier reform we’re going to keep pushing for. The momentum we built to get this across the finish line is the same momentum we’ll be carrying into the next session, and the one after that. We’ve proven and continued to demonstrate what’s possible when police labor stays organized and stays unified.

Last week, several SOA Board members attended a press conference hosted by Assemblyman Kwani O’Pharrow, who, along with Senator Monica R. Martinez, is sponsoring bill # A.9470-B/S.9201, which would establish clearer and more efficient procedures for the timely release of certain surveillance footage to law enforcement agencies during criminal investigations.

The SOA stands behind this legislation which would enhance law enforcement’s ability to conduct timely investigations.
