Bill's Bible Thought of the Week #12 08/02/26

"Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us!" Ephesians 3:20

Context:
--The Apostle Paul points us here to our God, Who is able to do "exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or thin." His answers may not always come in the way or timing we expect, but they are always guided by His perfect wisdom, love, and purpose.
--The Holy Spirit, who lives within every believer, is at work, strengthening our faith and accomplishing God's will.
--The Bible verse above reminds us that God is never limited by our circumstances, our resources, or even our imagination. We often pray with small expectations because we see only our present situation. But God sees the beginning and the end, and His power is infinite!

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for being the God who is able to do far more than I could ever ask or imagine. Help me to trust Your power instead of my own understanding. Strengthen my faith when circumstances seem impossible, and remind me that nothing is too difficult for You! May my life reflect Your greatness, and may You accomplish Your perfect will in and through me for Your glory!
In Jesus' name I pray. Amen

Bill's Bible Thought of the Week #10 (7/19/26)
"Praise the Lord, O my soul and all that is within me, praise His holy name. Praise the Lord, O my soul and forget not all His benefits: He forgives all your sin; He heals all your diseases. He redeems your life from destruction; He crowns you with faithful love and compassion." --Psalm 103: 1--4

Context:
- The word "psalm" means praise. Here, King David calls himself to intentionally praise God--not just with words, but with his whole being!
-He reminds us not to forget God's blessings: forgiveness of our sins, healing according to His perfect will, rescue from despair and eternal damnation, and the daily gift of His love and mercy.
-When life's challenges seem overwhelming, remember that God's faithfulness strengthens our trust in Him and renews our hope!

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I praise Your holy name with all that is in me. Thank You for forgiving my sins, being there for me during every trial, redeeming my life, and surrounding me with Your love and mercy. Help me never to forget Your goodness, and fill my heart with gratitude and unwavering trust in You each day. In Jesus' name I pray,
Amen

Bill's Bible Thought of the Week #11 (07/26/24

"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction." --Proverbs 1 : 7

Context:
-True wisdom stars with the fear of the Lord! This reverent awe of God means recognizing His holiness, trusting His authority, and willingly submitting to His Word!
-When we humble ourselves before the Lord, He opens our hearts to His wisdom and shapes our decisions according to His will!
-A teachable spirit is one of God's greatest gifts. As we remain open to His instruction, He continually molds us into the likeness of Christ.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I stand in reverence before You, for You alone are the source of all true wisdom and knowledge. Give me a humble and teachable heart that eagerly receives Your instruction. Help me to treasure Your Word above all my own understanding and to walk in obedience to You each day. Guard me from pride and from rejecting Your correction. May my life reflect the wisdom that comes from hearing You, bringing praise, honor and glory to Your name. In Jesus' name I pray,
Amen.
