The Maria Nye Health Trust

The Maria Nye Health Trust Last year in February 2010, I while I was having my reconstructive surgery, a lump was found on my right breast. This brings us to December 2010.

A CT scan revealed that the cancer had metastasized to my liver where there were three small tumors. I underwent aggressive chemotherapy and after six months the tumors shrank to virtually nothing. At that time, I discontinued the chemo but within three months, the tumors came back. Since then, I've tried three different treatments, including a clinical trial. Nothing has worked and my tumors have

continued growing for the past seven months. My most recent CT scan, taken on June 10, 2011, revealed that my tumors have now taken over the entire left lobe and parts of the right lobe in my liver. On that day, my oncologist gave me the most devastating news- when my liver stops working, I will die.

It is with a heavy heart and a great deep sadness that write this post to tell you all the Maria is now an angel, this morning around 6am she lost the battle. Her family was all around her she knew she was not alone. Please take the time today to post a time you remember with Maria, so we can all share in the love she has left us with. Every night I go to bed I will pray that comes and visits me, I know she is up in heaven listening to Marco, one day I will join her, and feel complete again.

Maria is getting better every day.. slowly but surely

And finally, THANK YOU,THANK YOU,THANK YOU,THANK YOU,THANK YOU,THANK YOU,THANK YOU
Without all of you Maria would not be here today, YOU have given her the support she needs to continue fighting. Always remember that we owe each and everyone one of you anything in our power to give. I didnt realize how profound your love for Maria is , and I sometimes have to just sit and reflect on how lucky we are to have such great people we are honored to call our friends

Please keep on praying and sending good thoughts. as well as sharing this page as much as possible, so we can afford to keep Maria's treatment going. We are also trying to save some money in case things get worse in the future and we have to come back to Issels.

The blood tests show the her numbers go down , then up, then down again. The Doctor believes this is a flare, meaning the tumors are breaking down and causing more 'toxins' to show up in her blood, which it he actual tumor breaking down. After the next week she will be doing some of the treatments at home and it is going to be expensive.

So we finished week2 at Issels, Maria had her ups and downs, but all in all she improved. It is a long slow road to recovery, after 3 years of Chemo her body has gone through a lot. At the beginning of the week she had back pain, nausea, and basic stomach pain(tumors in her stomach). At the end of the week she has just a little back pain, the nausea is under control, and the stomach pain is less but still there.

Maria is out of the wheelchair!!!!!

08/14/2011

Maria deeply appreciates all the love and support that everyone gives. She especially enjoys reading letters and comments that people leave for her, she isn’t quite up to answering them yet, but she wants everyone to know how much they mean to her.

When we arrived Maria was bed ridden and could barely keep her head up, she was in a lot of pain and still refused to take the Oxy, (she is tough). Since we arrived here at Issels and started the treatment Maria has been making a miraculous recovery. She is still in a wheelchair, but she is able to get up on her own. Now, we hope to have her out of the wheelchair and walking on her own very soon.
