Continuing our mission virtually to provide opportunities for students to collaborate and celebrate their art, Downstage has partnered with Colette Shaw to launch The Connection Project!
What is The Connection Project? A series of short, prompt-based readings around the theme of connection. Each group will consist of a writer, director and actors. Together they will create a short play to be performed on our social media platforms.

Introducing PROMPTSTAGE: a community-wide art share showcase! 🎨
If you want to make art during this time, we invite you to make work inspired by our weekly prompt!
Downstage will share your work to our social media platforms in a weekly showcase. We can’t wait to celebrate what we’re making together.
Anything goes: monologues, dances, poems, songs, sculptures, drawings, collages, stories, puppet shows... you name it! We’re making *short* pieces with whatever resources we have on hand! 🎭🎼🖌📝🎬📸

Here are the guidelines:
We’ll share a prompt every FRIDAY. Your work must be sent to [email protected] by the following TUESDAY at 12 noon EST.
You may send photos, videos, or audio clips of the work, but they must be under a minute.
The prompt for week 1 is NOSTALGIA!
