This time of year always brings happiness and sadness. Happy that the graduates made it across the stage but sad because you will not see them in the halls the next school year. Being in a school that covers both middle and high school you are with these students for 7 years of their life, so bonds are formed and emotions are high. In the last 2 years, I have had the privilege of speaking at their graduations and I could not think of any better send off then being asked to do that. Through these tears and gratefulness, I would like to say congratulations class of 2024 it has been a pleasure. Now it is time to take on a new type of journey.

Good evening everyone. It has been a long and emotional day for the students and I. After getting caught up on a few hours of sleep, I wanted to take the time and address what happened today. Here is the message from the state FBLA.

FBLA STATE CONFERENCE UPDATE:
For the last few weeks, Florida FBLA PBL has been monitoring all available information regarding COVID 19.

Our organization considers the safety of everyone involved, including students, sponsors, staff and stakeholders, a top priority. Therefore, the Board of Directors has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 FBLA State Leadership Conference. We know the timing of the decision comes with challenges, but in order to best ensure the safety and well being of our members, we need to enact the federal recommendations and cancel our public event. Thousands of student members from across the state have studied and prepared for this event, and that work will not be in vain. We are currently exploring all options, including holding online competitions, to ensure our students have the opportunity to showcase their skills and have the ability to qualify for the National Conference.

We appreciate your understanding and look forward to providing you with updates in the hours and days to come.

Even though the Conference itself was canceled it does not take away the initial goal, which is to make nationals. National is much bigger and comes with a once in a lifetime opportunity for the students. So until I get further word on the next steps, I will do what I can to prepare the students. Thanks and have a blessed evening.

Thanks for the great response on Saturday. It was an incredible fundraising day but we still fell short of about $950. We are making a last ditch effort to make up that amount. We have a few things out there but not enough to cover that amount. If you are interested in helping please contact me. Thanks for all the support.

A great day of fundraising today, we almost made a $1000 just at the car wash. Unreal !!! Along with the event at Gainesville Harley Davidson we raised over 1500. Thanks to Emilee MacDonald Amos and the rest of Gainesville Harley-Davidson for having us, it helped tremendously. Still a few dollars short of our goal. So we are still short. So any support is still needed.
