NEWS YOU CAN USE!

The Gilchrist Prevention Coalition will be holding their Ambassador Leadership Retreat beginning June 15th, 2026, thru June 19th, 2026, from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm at Bell Middle High School, 930 S. Main St. Bell, FL. 32619. This is a free event for all students grades 6th - 9th or will be 6th grade in the coming school year and would like to learn more about being a peer leader on your campus. Please pre-register with Gilchrist Prevention Coalition by June 8th, 2026. That information can be found on page 2 of the form. 📚 Children's Book Fair
🗓 June 17, 2026 | 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Families with children ages 0-12 can visit TCCRC and select up to TWO FREE brand-new children's books and other fun items. Children must be present to choose their books. No registration required. Supplies are limited.

🏠 Hurricane Debby Roofing Assistance
The RTNCF Hurricane Debby Roofing Program has limited funding available to provide FORTIFIED Roof™ replacements at no cost to eligible homeowners whose properties were damaged by Hurricane Debby. Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis through June 18, 2026.

🎗 Shared Journeys: Cancer Survivors & Caregivers Event
🗓 June 19, 2026 | 9:00 AM – 1:30 PM | Gainesville
A free event offering breakfast, lunch, guest speakers, and support sessions for cancer survivors and caregivers. Registration is required and space is limited.

🤝 Tri-County Community Partner Networking Fair
🗓 July 7, 2026 | 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
📍 Haven Community Center, 311 NE 9th Street, Chiefland
Learn about local resources and connect with community organizations. Organizations interested in hosting a table should register early, as space is limited.

🎒 Family Resource Event
🗓 July 28, 2026 | 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Families, students, and community members are invited to learn about programs and services that support education, health, and well-being. Donations of school supplies, backpacks, notebooks, pencils, and hygiene items are also being collected to support local families.

Today family is coming through our food distribution line Will receive the following:

Meat bag (contains fish, chicken enchiladas, cheese, and a frozen vegetable)

Large family-size French fries

Large cake or other sweet item for families

Half-gallon of milk (white or chocolate)

Watermelon

Colorful peppers

Sauerkraut

Yogurt, pasta salad, or guacamole

Orange juice or other fruit juice

One 2-liter bottle of Dr Pepper per family

Mixed vegetables (including tomatoes, onions, and potatoes)

Condiments bag (includes ketchup, salad dressing, coffee creamer, chips, crackers, candy, meat sticks, and Candy Cane Crunch)

Dry goods bag (contains dry beans, canned goods, cereals, and chips)

Fresh bread area (many loaves of bread available)

The children's table rural food Bank of Bronson is holding their distribution today from 10:00 a.m. until noon at 680 West thrasher drive Bronson. If your family needs food or a little assistance making the ends meet this month stop on by and see what the children's table has to offer! Farm fresh vegetables, bread sweets meats frozen vegetables and so much more! This is a drive-through style distribution. Don't forget your $10 fuels this mission! Each car can pick up for two families :-)

Tonight’s dinner plan is simple, cozy, and a little bit cheesy: Baked Ziti with Italian Sausage
