The cemetery office is the break room on these hot summer days. Mowing and trimming starts early to beat some of the heat. With replacing the heater in the sub-zero fridged temps of January the heat felt good ... one hundred degrees difference for this week.

Dear friends of Broken Bow Township Cemetery,

We wanted to let you know that Broken Bow Township Cemetery (BB Twp Cemetery) is proud to be participating in GIVE 4 CUSTER COUNTY, an event to grow philanthropy. GIVE 4 CUSTER COUNTY inspires communities to come together to give as much as possible to support the work of nonprofits in Custer County.
This giving event takes place June 16th – June 30th. Please mark your calendars, because we need your help! We will be joining 42 other local nonprofits to raise money together and compete for matching funds and prize money.
OUR STORY: The Broken Bow Township Cemetery cares for the (three) cemeteries in the township, which includes: caring for the grounds, keeping accurate records of burials, and serving the community who have loved ones at rest. With donations over the past 25 years, we have marked the unmarked graves, noted in the old burial records prior to 1910. AND in 2025 we have updated the public directory of burials; this was originally created from the old burial records that have been kept since the beginning of 1882.

Your funding will allow the Broken Bow Township Cemetery to continue its long-term commitment to our community by caring for their loved ones. Your donation WILL HELP WITH:
- beautification of our cemeteries, specifically with the grounds and old trees.
- emergency replacement of heater in Jan 2025. Adding air will save on the electric bill (vs. window air).

Broken Bow Township Cemetery-Nebraska is also participating in Give 4 Custer County 2025! They are raising funds to aid in the beautification of the three cemeteries that are cared for within the township. They are also hoping to raise funds to help replenish emergency funds used to replace the HVAC system.
