School is open and so is the Voice of Democracy and Patriot Pen Program through The Veterans of Foreign Wars VFW post 10887 Scholarship program.
Just scan the QR code for the program you qualify for, ( PP being 6th-8th grade and VOD being 9th -12th grade) and you are on your way to a better education and with a little cash in your pocket to boot.
First place winer will receive a cash prize at each level of wining. When you submit your written essay for the Patriot Pen or for the VOD (MP 4 Audio of your essay required for the VOD) you are then judged and if you win you will be move on to the next level. IE: Post level, District level, State level and National level! Post level prize is $150 for the VOD and $75.00 for the PP and our (Auxiliary will also give you a cash prize) and it increases at each level with National being $35,000.00
The subject this year is "What has a veteran thought me about America"
Plus while you are signed up you have to opportunity to check out thousands of Scholarships available to you through the Scholarships app Program free of charge just for taking part in the essay program. so Don't wait Program ends Oct 31st, 2026

A New VA scam is surfacing in the form of a post card says veterans can get an extra 185.00 a month. looks like it is from the VA it is not so if you get one discard it do not answer it or give them any information. IT IS A SCAM

The VFW post 10887 Broken Arrow will hold a remembrance of the fallen 13 in the botched Afghanistan pull out on August 26th of 2022 tha coast the lives of 13 service men and women. We will reed each name followed by the ringing of the bell. They will not be forgotten. the Time will be 10 am in front of the Broken Arrow Veteran Broken Arrow Veterans Center everyone is welcome to join
